Principal Safety Engineer

We are currently seeking a Product Safety Engineer on a Permanent basis in Glasgow, with travel to site upto once a month.

In addition to working on super exciting projects, this role will have the opportunity for overseas travel and/or secondment if the successful candidate desires.

What you'll be doing:

• Facilitate the implementation of relevant Product Safety processes and production of deliverables
• Support with the management of the hazards, risks and associated mitigations and contribute to the development of the hazard log
• Contribute to the maturity of information contained within developing safety arguments to go in to the safety report.
• Specifically you will receive training in the area of fire safety for Naval platforms with the intent that you will become a specialist in this field.

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

• Experience in product safety management processes and techniques
• Experience in obtaining classification certification

Familiar with report writing and developing safety arguments

Desirable:

• Experience of ANEP77 highly desirable
• Experience leading hazard identification meetings
• Background within a Naval/Maritime environment or similar highly regulated industry
