Principal Planning Lawyer– London – Competitive Hourly Rate – Hybrid Working

Position: Principal Planning Lawyer

Organisation: London based Local Authority

Duration: 6-month contract

Working Pattern: Full time

Working Arrangement: Hybrid working- one day a week attendance

Hourly Rate: Competitive hourly rate  

Venn Group’s legal team are working with a forward thinking Local Authority based in London in their search to recruit a LocumPrincipal Planning Lawyer.

The ideal candidate for this role will be an experienced Planning Lawyer who has a wealth of planning, development and highways experience , with the drive to hold a managerial position. Local Government experience is preferable but not essential for this role provided there is significant relevant experience.

Duties shall include:

  1. Handling a complex caseload of planning, development and highways matters
  2. Advising, drafting and negotiating on a range of legal documents including section 38, 106 and 278 agreements
  3. Building and maintaining effective relationships with clients, striving to deliver an exceptional level of service to meet client needs
  4. Provide support and guidance to junior staff members by sharing knowledge and experience to contribute to their professional development
  5. To attend site and committee meetings on an ad hoc basis
