Principal Ecologist

Oxford £37,000-£45,000

I am looking for a Principal Ecologist to join an exciting team in Oxford! This consultancy are expanding and are looking for someone friendly and enthusiastic to lead them. You will get the opportunity to provide specialist ecological input on a wide range of projects while supporting the team through giving advice on surveys, strategies, and mitigation.

The role involves:

  • Providing senior support and specialist knowledge to ecological projects.
  • Management of large-scale projects and ecology team members.
  • Assisting with the review of systems of work, templates and processes.
  • Tendering and budgeting.

The requirements include:

  • Experience in the ecological industry, including leading a team.
  • A passion for the natural environment and sustainability.
  • Experience in EIA's and knowledge of planning systems.
  • Working knowledge of DEFRA BNG Metric and the principles of Biodiversity Net Gain would be preferable.
  • Experience of mitigation strategies and licencing.
