Our Designers specialise in SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD software to engineer both mass-produced and bespoke storage systems for use in every industry, including the aviation, agriculture, construction, and haulage sectors, to name just a few. Right now, we are looking for a SOLIDWORKS 3D specialist to join our Design team, with excellent interpersonal skills and a true passion for detail. With us you will get to see your design projects through from start to finish; from the first steel part you design for our Bystronic laser cutter and press brakes, through to having your designs manufactured, shot-blasted and painted on-site, ready for delivery and installation for our customers. Your Duties:

• Mechanical product CAD design in SOLIDWORKS 3D, working with various CNC programs to enable the production of sheet metal laser-cut components and CNC tube-formed parts
• Bespoke solutions for national and global brands in construction, aviation, agriculture, industry, rail, mining, exploration, civil engineering and more
• Create 3D models, layouts, and engineering drawings to an excellent standard
• Apply 3D CAD modelling techniques to complex designs and assignments
• Assist on projects as part of our Design team, resolving queries and completing all stages of the design process from concept to final production
• Review bespoke design projects during in-house manufacturing
• Provide design solutions for our projects with guidance from engineering personnel
• Apply your knowledge of engineering principles to complement the design process
• Compile parts lists and technical documentation including user manuals, spec sheets and work instructions
• Work closely with our Sales and Fabrication teams on product specifications and solutions
• Attend team and client calls/meetings when needed, including meetings on product development

Required Skills, Education and Experience:

• 10+ years' experience in SOLIDWORKS 3D, ideally in sheet metal manufacturing
• Advanced knowledge of various CNC programs
• HNC/HND qualification and design/engineering degree a distinct advantage
• Highly proficient in 3D-modelling high-spec, functionally sound end-products
• Exceptional time management, communication skills and attention to detail
• Clear ability to advise and direct teams throughout the manufacturing process
• Well-organised team player - positive, cooperative, and approachable
• Self-motivated, competent, and analytical; producing timely and accurate work
• Proven passion for great product design, both functionally and aesthetically
