Principal/Associate Civil Engineer - Development Infrastructure - Highways, Drainage, Earthworks - Twickenham - Hybrid/Flexible

We're looking for an experienced Principal/Associate Civil Engineer in Twickenham!

The Role:

  • Reporting to the director on financial and technical controls for civil engineering projects.
  • Help manage financial, technical, and resourcing concerns for larger projects.
  • Deliver projects within budget restrictions while keeping colleagues and line managers informed of progress.
  • Delegate tasks to junior engineers and technicians working in projects.
  • Mentoring colleagues to improve their technical knowledge and understanding.
  • Responsible for certain technological concerns.
  • Because the work is client-facing, the ideal candidate must be able to communicate effectively and represent the organisation with professionalism.
  • Check that others' calculations, specifications, drawings, and reports follow operating processes.
  • Conduct site visits to track construction progress against specifications and report any concerns to the contractor or client.
  • Produce Flood Risk Assessment reports, Drainage Strategy reports, Bulk Earthworks reports, Site Viability assessments etc.

Requirements:

  • A MEng or BEng in Civil Engineering.
  • Demonstrable experience in Civil Engineering within a consultancy environment.
  • Excellent communication and numerical skills.
  • Ability to build excellent relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Experience of working with housing developers is advantageous.
  • Experience with civil engineering software, which may include AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Site 3D, MicroDrainage.
  • Knowledge of the design and detail of highway and drainage infrastructure and other civil engineering requirements on residential, commercial and industrial developments.
  • Working knowledge of Highway Authority Sections 38, 116, 117 and 278 and Water Authority sections 104, 116 and 185 agreements.
