Primary Classroom Teacher
  • Location: Heathfield, East Sussex
  • Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
  • Salary: UQT1-6 / MPS 1-6 / UPS 1-3 (FTE £25,323 to £46,525) Plus SEN additional allowance (FTE £2,539)
  • Start Date: ASAP or September

St Mary’s School, part of the SABDEN Multi Academy Trust, is a ‘Good’ special school seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and effective Primary Classroom Teacher. This is an exciting opportunity for a practitioner committed to raising standards and motivated to engage learners with complex needs. The school provides for children and young people with a range of social, emotional, and mental health needs, all of whom have an Education Health Care plan (EHCP).

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver an exciting and innovative curriculum that is sensitive to the needs of pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Engage and motivate learners with complex needs, raising standards and outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively within a lively, industrious environment to support the personalised curriculum.
  • Contribute to the school’s ambition to improve outcomes for all learners.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Highly organised with the ability to motivate and engage learners with complex needs.
  • Experience in Special Education is not essential but is advantageous.
  • Ability to deliver a curriculum that is both exciting and innovative, while sensitive to the needs of pupils.
  • Strong commitment to professional development and team collaboration.
