Our Story: At Randstad, we're currently on the lookout for a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join a specialised Autism school in Leeds. This school is devoted to offering a supportive and enriching learning space for students on the autism spectrum. Situated in the heart of Leeds, our dedicated team is committed to helping students thrive both academically and personally.

Job Summary: As an SEN Teacher in an LD and autism-focused school, you'll have a key role in delivering top-notch education tailored to suit the varied needs of students. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you'll create a welcoming and engaging learning atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to meet the varying needs of students on the autism spectrum.
  • Develop and implement Education Care Plans (ECPs) for each student.
  • Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment that promotes sensory awareness and accommodates individual learning styles.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to children education and well-being.
  • Utilise effective communication strategies to engage with students and facilitate their social and emotional development.
  • Work closely with parents and external professionals to provide ongoing support and feedback.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a background in Special Education.
  • Experience working with students on the autism spectrum.
  • Knowledge of autism-specific teaching strategies and interventions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.
