Job Opportunity: Experienced Primary School Teacher for Special Needs Pupils

Location: Barking & Dagenham

Position Type: Full-time, temporary (with potential for permanent role)

About Us:

Our primary school in Barking & Dagenham has recently secured funding to support pupils who have been on a reduced timetable. We are now seeking a dedicated and experienced teacher to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of these children.

Requirements:

  • Experience in teaching pupils with complex ASD and challenging behavior
  • Previous experience with Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Demonstrated creativity, patience, understanding, and calm demeanor
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proven ability to use initiative and work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Comfortable with supporting personal care needs of students
  • Proficient in implementing highly adaptive curriculums, including sensory support strategies
  • Familiarity with writing comprehensive reports for pupils
  • Ability to confidently deliver parents' evenings and meetings
  • Capability to incorporate input from other professionals to enhance student learning and development

Position Details:

  • The successful candidate will work with a small group of 4/5 children alongside two other adults.
  • This is a full-time position until the end of the summer term, with hours from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
  • Some later nights may be required for CPD, parents' evenings, etc.
  • For those seeking permanent teaching roles, this temporary position can also be considered.
  • Competitive full pay scale offered, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
