Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
  • Hourly Rate: From £17.30
  • Location: Heysham
  • Job Type: Part-time (3 days per week)
  • Start Date: June 10th, 2024 until the end of the school year

We are seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to provide PPA cover for Key Stage 2 at a vibrant primary school. This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about contributing to the educational development of children and is available to work on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Delivering pre-planned lessons to ensure continuity of education during teacher absence.
  • Supporting pupils’ learning activities in Key Stage 2.
  • Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a positive learning environment.
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff and contributing to the planning and preparation of activities.
  • Providing feedback to teachers on pupils’ progress and any issues encountered.
  • Assisting with the development of resources and learning materials.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • HLTA status or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working with Key Stage 2 pupils.
  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum and PPA cover requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage classrooms effectively and maintain discipline.
  • Flexibility to work the required days and adapt to the needs of the school.
