Job Title: Press Setter

Location: Hungerford

Salary: Up to £25,000 per annum

Reports To: Production Manager

Hours: 37.5 hours

Purpose of the job:

Operational lead of production value stream, relaying company communication, inspiring employee to deliver and act accordingly the company's core values, delivering production targets and ensuring quality standards are met. To drive the continuous improvement of standards in efficiency, processes, and people management within production to ensure the delivery of the scheduled production plan within SQDC model requirements.

Main duties & responsibilities:

  • To work on various open fronted type power presses to a maximum 160 Tonne capacity and single operation presses.
  • Working with single and multi-stage press tooling.
  • You will use basic measuring equipment such as Verniers and Callipers and can understand engineering drawings.
  • Ensuring products are manufactured to an appropriate standard and specified tolerances to customer satisfaction and maximise production performance.
  • You will retrieve the correct materials and load equipment to meet the demands of the production schedule
  • Set Press Tools / complete changeovers in line with SMED principles.
  • You will ensure Health & Safety compliance throughout the plant and highlight any issues promptly.
  • Candidates must have previous experience of setting and operating power presses, metal forming and production manufacturing.
  • Forklift truck licence would be an advantage.
  • Must be a team player.

Managerial Tasks

  • To be able to manage a team of approx. 7 people.
