Outstanding opportunity for a Qualified Accountant with a focus on outsourced services.

A Chartered Accountancy and Business Advisory practice, specialising in acting for companies and individuals in the Creative Industries, is recruiting a qualified accountant to join their growing team.

The practice has found that qualified accountants with a skill set and preference for outsourced services such as bookkeeping, VAT returns, management accounts, and commercial advisory are preferred to bookkeepers.

This role is not a standard one. The Central London based firm has an extensive client base made up of SME and OMB clients and no day is ever the same as the last!

The ideal candidate will be confident running several companies’ finance functions at once and remembering the particularities of each one. You could be asked to manage client email accounts responding and working as if you are an internal member of staff.

You will be given a portfolio of clients to manage, and it is expected that you manage your own time and the fee budget effectively, while delivering the work needed for each client by the deadline.

This is vastly a remote work from home position, however occasionally you might be asked to visit a client’s premises in London for an assortment of reasons..

Clients are often young, creative entrepreneurs who have little to no knowledge or experience of accounts or tax, so being confident and knowledgeable is essential.

Essential Skills:

  • Qualified accountant- ACA or ACCA
  • Extensive and recent previous bookkeeping experience and be able to work with accounts to trial balance.
  • Previous experience in Practice (Does not have to be recent)
  • Advanced Xero and Excel skills
  • Confident and friendly personality, able to succeed within young, rapidly expanding companies

Crucial experience:

  • Managing and reconciling bank accounts and credit cards
  • Processing sales and purchase invoices, receipts and payments
  • Sales and purchase ledger maintenance
  • Credit control
  • Petty cash and director’s expense management
  • Processing and reconciling VAT returns
  • Managing and analysis of budgets
  • Standard Journal Entries
  • Implementing new accounting procedures
  • Assisting in the updating of cash flow reports.
  • Ability to take books to trial balance
