My client is a national PR & Public Affairs agency, who is looking to appoint a new PR & Public Affairs person to their Birmingham team. They are looking to speak to Account Executive, Senior Account Executive and Account Manager level candidates. The role will work on a mix of built environment, place making, energy and infrastructure clients.

The role will be based in central Birmingham for a minimum of 2 days a week with the option to work from home 3 days a week (although you are welcome to work from the office as much as you like).

Candidates will need to come from a background in public affairs, politics, PR and/or public consultation. Good political contacts are desirable, and the ambition to play an active part in a growing team is essential. You will also have an understanding of property and planning and be enthusiastic to work on strategic projects in both areas.

This post supports the Directors within the Birmingham team. The role’s main objective is to ensure the effective delivery to any client projects on time and within budget.

Required experience:

  • Understand how local government works and some knowledge of the property and planning sector
  • Communicate well with strong writing and inter-personal skills
  • Demonstrate drive, commitment and a focus to producing work of the highest standard
  • Have attention to detail, excellent workload management and be a good team player
  • Have a strong political understanding and/or background
  • And for Account Managers, experience in account/project management and the ability to forge good client relationships.

Your work will include organising public exhibitions and stakeholder events, political and stakeholder research, producing draft letters, client liaison, community engagement, external political and stakeholder engagement, social media management, newsletters and exhibition boards and maintaining accurate databases. You will also be expected to draft press releases and demonstrate a good understanding of media relations.
