PR & Communications Executive

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a PR & Communications Executive to join the Marketing team at a leading educational institution in Cambridge. If you have a passion for storytelling and creating impactful content across various media platforms, this role offers a competitive salary, staff benefits, and the chance to make a real difference in people’s lives.

  • Annual Salary: 30-33.5k
  • Location: Cambridge
  • Job Type: Full-time: Whilst you will need to be onsite for events and the coverage activities, some working from home can also be part of your routine. (Please note Events are a key part of the role and will involve out of hours and occasional weekend work)

Day to Day of the role:

  • Craft compelling content, including written articles, social media posts, videos.
  • Drive media and press coverage, improve social media rankings, and increase website traffic through innovative communication strategies.
  • Build strong relationships with each department to uncover and share stories, working with local, trade, and national media.
  • Manage corporate communications and reputation, including internal communications, publications, and events.
  • Utilise content marketing to engage key stakeholder groups and support recruitment campaigns.
  • Regularly engage in writing, photography, and videography to produce high-quality content.
  • Lead and support the organisation of events.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in public relations and communications within a dynamic environment.
  • A creative and innovative approach to traditional and modern PR methods, tactics, and tools.
  • Strong writing, photography, and videography skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships internally and externally.
  • Ability to work flexibly across multiple sites and to travel as required.
  • Willingness to work out of hours and occasional weekends for events.
  • A positive, outgoing, and friendly personality.
