Summary:
We are working with an industry leader in battery storage systems who are looking to grow their Trading and Analytics team as a Power Trader. You?ll be working with grid-scale battery storage assets which are vital for both grid stability and accelerating in the net-zero energy transition. Joining the Trading and Analytics Team, you will collaborate with seasoned traders and energy market analysts, sharing expertise in order to optimise the team?s trading strategy. Key Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a 24/7 Trading team, developing and executing trading strategies to maximise P&L across both speculative and battery storage asset positions
- Full responsibility of Trading desk, including direct control of multiple battery storage assets
- Conduct real-time analysis of the UK power market and National Grid balancing actions
- Collaborate with market analysts to deliver improvements to our in-house forecasting
- Contribute to the continuous development of trading dashboards and tools
- Support in the production of market intelligence reporting
Skills & Experience required:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM, Economics, Data Science or a similar field
- Passion for the energy industry, trading or asset optimisation
- Motivated to become an expert in the power market including electricity pricing, hedging, and risk management strategies
- Excellent data and statistical analysis tools
- Flexibility with your working hours
