Job Title: Power Electronics Engineer
Location: Bath
Duration: Permanent
Salary: £50,000-£60,000 per annum (DOE)

We are currently recruiting for a Power Electronics Engineer for a permanent position based in Bath.

Working collaboratively as part of a high performing team, you will deliver effective and fit for purpose solutions to customers globally. You will be responsible for all or aspects of the development lifecycle, including:

* Development of new innovative products.
* Development of core products.
* New feature requests and product enhancements.
* Solving problems with new technology introduction.
* Adherence to formal design principles using best practice processes.
* Collaborating with key project and business stakeholders.
* Delivering high quality solutions using continuous improvement tools and techniques.
* You will need to be proactive, hands on and driven to ensure the delivery of all activities in line with agreed deadlines.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
* Fulfil requirements of the development life cycle from research and concept through to final manufacture.
* Contribute to project plans to influence project timescales.
* Undertake design reviews to ensure that company designs and solutions comply with specifications and relevant standards.
* Respond to stakeholder specifications.
* Develop and provide cost estimates in collaboration with all business disciplines.
* Present analysis results and project solutions to key stakeholders such as technical leads, senior leaders and customers as necessary.
* Develop and execute functional and non-functional test specifications to ensure compliance requirements.
* Development and preparation of technical records and reports as may be necessary to demonstrate compliance with associated specification and any relevant standards.
* Design to meet internationally recognised standards.
* Provision of technical support to key internal and external stakeholders as required e.g. Sales, Service, Production, Buying and Quality Departments.

Qualifications & Technical Experience:

Essential
* Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Software or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
* Previous industrial design experience in harsh environmental conditions.
* Proven experience in power conversion systems and technologies.
* Control theory, simulation, analysis and implementation across multiple topologies.
* Proven experience of analysing, designing, testing, debugging and enhancing existing/new products used in an industrial environment.
* Experience of task management, defect management, requirements capture, verification and validation tools.
* Proven experience in embedded C programming to coding guidelines.
* Unit testing/regression testing experience.
* Willingness to travel.

Desired
* Experience with Industrial communications.
* Python programming in embedded / non-embedded environments.
* Development in RTOS environments.
* MATLAB / Simulink experience.
