Salary: £35,850 to £36,493 (London) / £31,994 (National) per annum

Hours: 35

Contract: Fixed-term until January 2025

Location: London/Bristol - employees are able to work from home on an arrangement agreed with their line manager.

An exciting opportunity has arisen at the National Housing Federation (NHF) for a fixed-term Policy Officer position, due to internal secondment. The NHF is the voice of housing associations in England. We are the trade body to almost 600 housing associations, who have grown from philanthropic roots to provide 2.6 million homes to around 6 million people. Key elements of the role:

- Playing a key role in the work of the policy team - creating briefings, working closely with our members and helping to develop policy ideas and solutions.
- Engaging with members and stakeholders to identify and respond to key opportunities and challenges facing the sector, now and in the future.
- Keeping up to date with the current policy environment, latest thinking and issues that impact the sector and housing associations.
- Providing policy input, support and advice to other parts of the NHF through events and project groups.

The successful candidate:
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

- An understanding of the processes of policy development, and experience of working in a policy team
- Experience of building and developing relationships with stakeholders
- Strong analytical and communication skills
