Reed Education is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our client as a Teaching Assistant. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a nurturing environment that supports the educational and personal growth of our students with special needs. They are seeking flexible candidates who are able to cover full time, part time and/or ad hoc sickness cover from now and September.

The school is a beacon of specialised education, providing a nurturing and supportive environment for children and young people with severe learning difficulties, aged 2 to 19 years. The school is dedicated to bridging the gap to success, offering a rich learning experience within a happy, caring, and secure setting. Pupils benefit from a broad, balanced, and relevant curriculum, adapted to meet their individual needs and abilities.

Candidates should possess a genuine passion for special education and a commitment to enhancing the lives of students with special needs. While formal qualifications like a degree in special education can be beneficial, schools often seek individuals with strong interpersonal skills, creativity, and the ability to adapt learning materials and strategies to support diverse learning requirements. Experience in a similar role or a background in therapy, care programs, or inclusive education is highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the delivery of tailored educational programs
  • Support individual students, both academically and emotionally
  • Facilitate inclusive classroom activities
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to enhance student learning

Qualifications:

  • Passion for special education
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential

To apply, please submit your resume and a cover letter detailing your experience and passion for special education. A member of the SEND consultancy team will be in touch to discuss your application in further detail.

Reed Education are committed to the safeguarding and wellbeing of children. You will be required to provide an enhanced DBS, full registration with Reed and 5 years of reference history prior to any placement.
