PLC Control Engineer

Our client is a leading manufacturer and supplier of components to many global automotive companies. Due to continued success, they are looking to recruit a PLC control engineer to work within its facilities within Birmingham and surrounding areas.

Daily duties will include but not be limited to.

  • Programming knowledge to create, modify and debug in S7, WinCC and TIA Portal over the full range of Siemens programming languages.
  • Ability to fault find quickly and efficiently in a JIS (Just in time/sequence) plant.
  • The job holder is expected to approach the job in a flexible and progressive manner.
  • Responsible for examining and improving PLC Systems site wise.
  • To determine and diagnose hardware and software related faults.
  • Modify/Program electronic controls systems.
  • Support with electrical / mechanical breakdown repairs
  • Available for call out and telephone support.

The candidate should hold/have relevant experience in the following:

  • Simatic HMI Programming
  • Siemens S7 PLC networking
  • Advanced S7 PLC Programming
  • Microsoft Office Applications ITQ Level 2
  • Engineering HND or equivalent (e.g., City & Guilds, EITB, Diploma or equivalent).
  • Programming and control of electronic systems equipment.
  • Computer studies.
  • Basics of mechanics, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Problem solving experience in a high-volume production environment.
  • Full Driving licence and Passport.

Applicants should have ideally come from an electrical / mechanical maintenance background and have progressed into a PLC field. Applicants should also have a full clean driving license and a full passport due to some limited overseas travel.
