Play Area Attendant - Summer 2024

Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our client, Walsall Council, for Play Area Attendants to supervise outdoor playgrounds at key parks within the borough of Walsall and support the smooth running of the splashpad facilities.
Shift Pattern: 10am - 5.30pm Monday - Sunday
Summer season temporary role, workers are then invited to return for Bonfire Weekend!
Pay rate: £12.38 per hour.
Locations: Walsall Arboretum, King George's Park Bloxwich & Willenhall Memorial Park.

Essential Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS clearance
  • First Aid (Desirable)
  • Special Working Conditions
  • Requirement to work in an outdoor environment.
  • Approachable
  • Excellent customer service as workers should expect to be working with members of the public daily.
  • Flexibility to work shift hours of 10 am - 5.30am and weekends.


Daily duties

  • To supervise the splashpad facilities and ensure appropriate use by advising users of the site rules.
  • Checking and cleaning the site toilet facilities throughout the day.
  • To deal with face-to-face customer enquiries and complaints.
  • Emptying litterbins and litter picking the play area.
  • Provision of First Aid.
  • To assist with cleaning of play equipment when required.
  • To be a nominated key holder at the site.


Experience required

  • Experience of communicating with members of the public.
  • Experience of resolving queries and issues.
  • Experience of working onsite in public settings and outdoor environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work under own initiative.
