Plant Manager vacancy with a growing global manufacturer based in Rotherham near Sheffield. With continued year on year growth, the business is looking for a new Plant Manager to join the team and push the site forward through 2024 and beyond.

Michael Page Engineering & Manufacturing are working with a highly successful Rotherham based manufacturer who supply an exceptional range of products to a large customer base, both across the UK and internationally.

This leading UK business has experienced impressive growth in recent years due to their innovation, agility, and an ambition to succeed and are now looking for a passionate Plant Manager with a background in people management, process and productivity to assist them in driving the business forward.

Description

Reporting into the Regional Operations Director, and managing a team of c.60, the Plant Manager will be responsible for directing and managing all operational activities across the facility, including production, engineering, HSEQ and delivery.

Other day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Promoting and supporting continuous improvements and company best practice
  • Improving key metrics such as OEE, safety, quality, OTD and profitability
  • Positively driving behaviours to ensure employee engagement
  • Driving initiatives to deliver manufacturing excellence across systems, procedures, policies and standards
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and legislation i.e. COMAH, COSHH, PSSR, ISO9001 etc.
  • Acting as a member of the senior leadership team, working alongside colleagues in other departments and liaising with both customers and suppliers

Profile

Successful candidates will have a strong leadership background and will ideally come from a COMAH regulated industry (although this isn't essential). You will also possess:

  • Understanding of the relevant H&S regulations and legislation
  • A working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (SAP or similar)
  • NEBOSH, IOSH or similar qualification
  • Lean six sigma mindset and experience of implementing continuous improvement projects
  • Ability to coach, mentor and influence a skilled workforce
  • Strong communication skills at all levels of the business, including board level
  • An innovative and customer focussed approach
