Plant Director

At PAM Building we are looking for a Plant Director to lead our Telford site, helping to deliver the long-term strategy of our site's operations, processes and performance.

Our Plant Director is responsible for a plant of 112 people with 5 of those will reporting directly to you so you need to be someone who enjoys working with a great set of people. We need an inspirational leader who wants to motivate, develop, engage and encourage their team to achieve our goal to 'be the most sustainable drainage supplier.'

PAM Building is part of Saint-Gobain, a global organisation which specialises in the supply and manufacture of a vast range of sustainable products for the building sector across the world. PAM Building at Telford offers above and below ground drainage solutions for multi-storey buildings and rainwater products for traditional buildings. We are the UK's leading supplier of cast iron products for building works and we'e proud of the high performance and quality of our products which meet the future needs of the building drainage sector.

What we're looking for:

  • Leadership experience ideally in a manufacturing plant, leading large numbers as well as managing managers
  • Ability to demonstrate a positive impact, drive change and deliver great results
  • Driven by, and has experience of continuous improvement and high standards (WCM, LEAN)
  • You'll be genuinely curious and comfortable in challenging your team to get the best results and achieve stretching targets
  • Customer focussed - you'll understand the importance of an excellence customer experience to both internal and external customers

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop and implement the long-term strategy of the Telford site's operations, processes and performance
  • Coach and develop people to fulfil their potential. Create a culture of trust and empowerment
  • Lead the Telford site's actions to achieve the EHS targets. Instil a positive EHS culture in the site
  • Lead the site's various continuous improvement programmes: WCM, streamline, EHS, customer experience, quality
  • Continually monitor and review manufacturing performance against agreed objectives and to take necessary actions where appropriate
  • Work collaboratively with Finance, Supply Chain and other departments to determine the future requirements of the site including the process to introduce new technology. Set out the engineering and capital investment requirements of the site.
