GTS Transportation is currently recruiting for a Plant and Infrastructure Manager to work for our client in the Rail Industry, based in London. 

Company Overview:
Our client, a leading railway transportation provider, is seeking a dedicated Plant & Infrastructure Manager to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of critical assets at our client's depots. This role is essential for ensuring the safety, efficiency, and compliance of plant, equipment, and infrastructure within the company's operations.

Job Summary:
The Plant & Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for managing the maintenance, repair, and compliance of buildings, plant, equipment, services, and track infrastructure at designated depots. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to developing maintenance schedules and ensuring adherence to environmental management standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain inventory and technical documentation of plant, equipment, buildings, and infrastructure.
  • Develop and modify maintenance and repair specifications, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Oversee all maintenance and repairs at designated depots, including statutory inspections and Network Rail asset management.
  • Manage contractor access and safety protocols through the Permit to Work system.
  • Act as the responsible person for Legionella and Fire management at depots.
  • Conduct supplier audits and undertake energy-saving projects.
  • Monitor spending and adherence to budgetary levels for plant and infrastructure.
  • Administer the fault database and perform planned general inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with company values, ISO9001 principles, and safety standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum HND qualification in a relevant subject preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
  • Knowledge of statutory requirements, codes of practice, and industry standards.
  • Strong management, communication, and risk assessment skills.
  • Proven experience in a T&RS depot environment.
  • Experience in creating easily understandable documents and instructions.
  • Safety training/certification including Fire Safety, NEBOSH, and Personal Track Safety.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and technical documentation management.
