Reed are looking for a Freelance P6 Planner for a role that should last 3 to 4 months.

As a P6 Planner, you will play a crucial role in project planning and scheduling using Primavera P6 software. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules to ensure timely completion of all tasks and deliverables, whilst mentoring and training a newly promoted internal Programme Manager. You will collaborate closely with project managers, factory assembly staff, clients and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and ensure alignment with project objectives and timelines. Additionally, you will monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and propose mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.

The role involves

•              Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 software.

•              Mentor a new Programme Manager within the business on Primavera P6 software.

•              Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to gather project requirements and establish realistic timelines.

•              Implement scheduling best practices to optimise project efficiency and resources.

•              Conduct schedule analysis to identify critical paths, potential conflicts, and opportunities for improvement.

•              Communicate schedule updates, progress reports, and potential risks to project teams and management.

•              Proactively identify potential delays or obstacles and propose mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines.

•              Monitor project performance metrics and provide recommendations for process improvements.

•              Participate in client and internal project meetings to provide scheduling expertise and support decision-making processes.

•              Contribute to weekly internal and client reports.

•              Ensure compliance with project scheduling standards, policies, and procedures.

•              Support continuous learning and development by staying updated on industry trends and advancements in project scheduling methodologies and software.

Candidates for this role will have a degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, Proven experience in project planning and scheduling, preferably in construction. Proficiency in Primavera P6 software and other project management tools.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform schedule analysis and identify optimization opportunities and a record of mentoring and training colleagues.
