Placement Broker / Broking Manager

Our are one of the leading brokers in the region, and due to the continual flow of quality new business enquiries, they require a dedicated Commercial Broker that will focus on the placement of new business with a panel of general and specialist insurers.

This is a purely market facing role, speaking with insurers throughout the day and liaising with Account Executives once the best products available have been sourced.

Key Duties:

• Marketing commercial risks to insurers for new business
• Preparing market documentation, with assistance from Account Handlers
• Preparing policies where appropriate and send to Account/Development Executives for their input
• Reviewing submissions from producers, ensuring all information is accurate before going out to the market
• Broking to local as well as some international and Lloyd's markets
• Ensuring that all market documentation is closed in a timely and appropriate manner
• Utilising extensive experience gained as a Broker to hold competent and technical conversations with insurers

Skills Required:

• Good technical knowledge within commercial insurance, spending time as an Account Handler within a broker
• Established relationships with insurers is highly beneficial
• Ability to communicate effectively, with a proven track record in negotiating suitable deals with commercial insurance clients
• A proactive approach and the ability to manage a number of on-going cases at any one time

There is a competitive basic salary of c£50k on offer, along with a benefits package which includes 27 days holiday, a bonus, an enhanced pension, private medical, life assurance, support for professional qualifications and plenty of scope for career progression. The role can be based at their office in Leeds city centre or in north Leeds and has the option of working from home 2 days a week.
