Blueprint Recruitment has a brilliant new opportunity for a dynamic Piping Designer to join a specialist Design and Engineering Consultancy, on a long-term contract basis.

This position is offering the successful Piping Designer the opportunity to work on a hybrid basis, attending either the Manchester or Glasgow office.

If selected, you will have the opportunity to work with experienced Engineers and Designers on exciting Pharmaceutical projects whilst being responsible for the production of design deliverables.

Our client specialises in multiple sectors, such as, Life Sciences, Nuclear, MOD, Aviation and Rail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Layout of process equipment and pipework using AutoCAD E3D
  • Production of isometric drawings from E3D model
  • Production of 2D plant layout drawings in AutoCAD
  • Drafting of P&IDs in AutoCAD
  • Running 3D model reviews
  • Consideration of access requirements for maintenance and operability
  • Design of piping supports
  • Support more junior staff when required
  • Checking of piping design documents, including checking isometrics

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in the production of process piping 3D models, 2D equipment layouts and piping isometrics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Sound knowledge of piping specifications and design codes
  • Must have experience with E3D OR PDMS programmes
  • Appreciation of layout requirements for hygienic pipework (food / pharma sector)
  • Strong understanding of process requirements and the ability to interpret process P&ID'S
  • Working knowledge of piping specifications
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Flexibility to conduct site visits if required
