Pipefitter

Pipefitter required for our client, a well-established mechanical engineering and building services. They have built a reputation within the Building Services Industry by delivering Design, Installation and Maintenance Services to both public and private sector markets.

The work is local to Billericay office until July, then overtime will be required for school projects and potentially staying away, therefore the engineer needs to be happy to travel and stay away from home and work longer hours than normal. The other locations will cover M25 & home counties.

Pipefitter Position Overview

• Install pipework, brackets, and equipment to concise schematic drawings.
• Ensure that all activities comply with current legislation, Health & Safety Policies & Regulations, Building Regulations, CDM Regulations, Risk Assessments, Legislative Statutory Maintenance Inspections, Quality Plans and Operating Procedures.
• Read detailed schematic drawings and planning pipe systems, related equipment installations.
• Measure and marking pipes for cutting, threading, press.
• Assemble pipe components and systems.
• Secure pipes to walls and fixtures with brackets, clamps and welding equipment.
• Repair and maintaining pipe systems, supports and related equipment.
• Perform strength and tightness tests on gas and water pipes complying with relevant codes and regulatory standards.
• Correctly select and safely use hand tools, mechanical tools and equipment in differing environments for the fabrication, installation repair of pipework systems.
• Apply techniques for the temporary or permanent removal of an engineering construction piping related system or component.

Pipefitter Position Requirements

• Extensive experience with press fit systems in copper & Stainless Steel
• Experience within containment & pipe fitting within domestic heating systems, commercial heating, domestics pipework
• Extensive experience installing radiators and fan convectors on commercial scale heating
• Plant room experience (beneficial)
• Plumbing qualifications (beneficial)
• Experience working within schools, hospitals & occupied commercial premises is required

Pipefitter Position Remuneration

• £35,000 - £45,000 DOE
