The Company
Based in Huddersfield our client has been trading for over 20 years, building an excellent reputation and becoming one of the largest online retailers in their sector. A significant increase in trading over the pandemic has set them up well to grow existing operations and expand into new areas.

The Role
You will join the internal development team working on a range of business applications and e-commerce solutions. The development team is a fundamental part of the business and will help the company to grow through intelligent and efficient use of technology. Building a range of solutions covering the manufacturing and distribution process that integrate with the ecommerce sites allow the company to improve speed and accuracy of order capture through to product delivery. 

Developing PHP and working on a mix of CAKE and Laravel based frameworks your role will work closely with a number of teams from across the business and you should be comfortable capturing requirements then designing, developing and deploying solutions. 
The Person
Candidates will need:
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Object oriented development
  • Experience with PHP & relational databases (MySQL or similar)
  • Experience of using (at least one) MVC frameworks such as Laravel or CakePHP
  • Familiarity of working with building and consuming APIs
  • Passion and interest in programming
  • Passion and interest in e-commerce and online retail
  • Willingness to challenge the status quo – thinking outside of the box and continually seeking ways to improve efficiency by changing the way in which we work to benefit team and the Company
  • Experience of using code versioning software e.g Git, SVN

This role will require candidates to be able to work onsite 3 days per week however there is a good level of flexibility over working hours. The company offers a competitive salary and the role will have excellent potential to progress your career, taking more responsibility for develop projects.
