Ada Meher is currently resourcing for a PHP Developer to join their client, a platform vendor based in the city centre, who are looking to add to their PHP delivery team due to the demands of their current projects. The role would involve using the Symfony framework and API-Platform working on a number of large scale application builds using the latest in headless web-API and serverless technology. The company are very process driven, following TDD and Agile methodology and preferring candidates who have similar ideologies. They also deploy code via AWS and Lambdas with the Serverless framework so any knowledge in this area would be beneficial.

They have a big focus on the personal development of their staff, putting in place development plans and review periods for all staff as a matter of process. They also provide access to courses and accreditations to assist this development and a fast-track progression scheme for those that excel.

This role is able to be interviewed and onboarded remotely with the long term plans to have regular office visits, roughly once a week, for a team meeting and project planning. However, in aid of this the company have rolled out a commute contribution plan to reduace the cost of travelling into their Central Leeds office space. They also offer a flexible hours policy, allowing employees to take ownership over how and when they deliver their workload.

The ideal candidate will have experience working commercially with PHP and Symfony, preferably with a focus on quality and testing, and be enthused by the chance to work on enterprise grade application development. Given the greenfield nature of the work there is plenty of opportunity for input from all levels on the design of the solution and a real chance for the right person to really make their mark.

To be considered:
  • Demonstrable experience of PHP Development 
  • Demonstrable experience with MVC frameworks (Preferably Symfony)
  • Knowledge of TDD/Unit Testing and the API-Platform
  • Experience in Agile Development
  • Strong communication skills
