The firm

We are working with a top 200 city law firm who are looking for a Paralegal with experience in Person Injury. The firm are well known for their positive culture alongside great scope for progression - something hard to come by in the current market.

The role

  • Assisting with the preparation and creation of bundles and other paperwork for court hearings, including creating links, pagination, and redaction;
  • Draft claim forms and any other forms addressed to court;
  • Draft witness statements and instructions to experts;
  • Obtain/request and review medical notes;
  • Liaise with clients directly, taking initial calls to obtain information and background and being a point of contact for routine queries and updating clients on general developments;
  • Assess quantum on PI/CN cases; and prepare schedules of loss
  • Document retrievals or by hand deliveries, this may include travel outside of the office;
  • Proofread legal documents, engross letters, format documents;
  • Prepare files for costs draftsman or for transfer to another firm assisting with completion of court documents
  • Assisting busy fee-earners with document management on various client files, recording and monitoring progress, and pending steps
  • Attend meetings and court, ensuring full and accurate notes
  • Draft and organise legal correspondence and working with solicitors to progress correspondence;
  • Assist with the applications, and in some cases on the behalf of the fee earner make the applications, relating to ATE insurance using the portal. This will include managing disbursements costs and liaising with relevant clients/fee earners on any issues relating to this
  • Completing legal research
  • Ensure accurate diary management for key dates and client meetings

Requirements

  • 6 months or more experience as Personal Injury Paralegal
  • LPC graduated.
  • Minimum of a 2:1 in LLB
  • Excellent team player
