This L200 Defendant law firm is looking to strengthen its Leeds office with the hire of an EL/PL file handler working in the casualty team. This firm promotes flexible working and you will be required to attend the Leeds office once a week along with a wide range of benefits and a competitive salary package. 

The File Handler will manage a caseload of varied EL/PL cases on behalf of a number of insurance clients. The majority of the cases will be Fast-Track with the potential to handle Multi Track cases up to £100K.

Key Duties:

  • Handling matters in accordance with client SLAs
  • Initial report/review and setting strategy for the management of the claim
  • Reviewing evidence (Witness statements, GP records, Occupational Health/ Personnel records, property inspection reports)
  • Dealing with Disclosure
  • Conducting investigations
  • Review and report re exchange of evidence, receipt of medical evidence, joints statements or at any other stage
  • Drafting questions to medical experts
  • Attending Conferences and Trial with Counsel
  • Preparing/checking Trial Bundles
  • To ensure compliance with the SRA Standards & Regulations

About you:

  • Experience of handling a caseload of EL/PL files
  • Previous litigation experience
  • Meeting targets
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • Good client care skills and evidence of working to client guidelines on a delegated basis
  • Ability to prioritise work, keep to deadlines and work under pressure
  • Driven to achieve
  • Ability to work within the Keoghs Shared Value framework
