Job description

As a People Services & Payroll Coordinator your role will focus on providing a comprehensive and customer focused service for all first line People and administrative duties.

Acting as a first point of contact for all centralised queries, this would typically include processes such as new starter and leaver administration, benefit administration, paternity/maternity queries, contract changes and updates to terms and conditions and absence. You will work closely with the People & Culture Team to ensure all legislative and statutory deadlines are met and out people are fully supported to deliver their roles. As a Payroll Coordinator you will also help the People Services & Reward Manager with data analytics and reporting for Payroll.

The role

Salary - £25,000 - £26,000

  • Triage all incoming queries, through the People Services and Payroll Mailbox, resolving queries to a pre-set SLA and escalating as required in line with the roles and responsibilities of the team.
  • Provide an efficient internal service by adhering to pre-set service standards / SLA's with full support of management and internal service requirements
  • Prepare and disseminate contractual and company correspondence such as contract amendment letters, references, mail merges, reports and any adhoc requests.
  • Contribute to the successful processing of payroll with pre-set monthly schedule of activity, ensuring all system updates are accurate and consistent with monthly deadlines
  • Assist with the payroll data processing and first line payroll queries. As well as checking monthly payroll reports to ensure data has been accurately processed.
  • Support managers and employees with employee requests such as flexible working, maternity/paternity/adoption procedures and sickness absence recording.
  • Support the integrity of people data within our HR Systems
  • Support the continuous improvement of the company's HR processes and procedures.

The person

  • A keen interest in HR and People Operations processes with a focus on personal development
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong communication skills gained from working within a similar environment or role.
  • Excellent time management skills with an ability to manage one's own workload to set a standard of SLA.
  • Able to forge strong working relationships with Stakeholders of all levels.
  • High level IT confidence, including intermediate Excel skills.
  • Pro-active approach to problem solving.

Desirable Skills:

  • CIPD Level 3 (or working towards)
  • Experience working with HR and Payroll Database systems
