Salary: Circa £60,000 depending on experience 

This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract

Dynamic (hybrid) working: We trust our people to agree, within their teams, where and when they can be most effective. Our Dynamic Working policy allows individuals flexibility around the hours they work and where they work

Where possible, we will seek to accommodate a blended approach to on-site and remote working – such as being onsite when necessary to work with people and collaborate, then working from home and around family commitments to be your most efficient.  Typically this could be 3 days a week in the office (on average.)

This role could be full time or part time: 4 or 5 days per week. We are flexible and accommodating.

The opportunity:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a proven People Manager who is passionate about managing the performance and development of our people to lead our Engineering Project Management Group.

We're looking for a leader who has an appreciation of engineering and project management with passion, focus, drive and the vision to lead a team to deliver successfully.  

This is a great opportunity to join Electronics Engineering organisation on a 12 month fixed term contract and play a major role in shaping its future.

Your role will be to:

  • Provide leadership and functional line management for our Engineering Project Manager (EPM) team, to meet a dynamic environment delivering equipment critical to the defence of our nation and its front line forces. 
  • Lead and support the EPMs to deliver complex engineering solutions on time, on cost, on quality.
  • Develop the team's capability, motivate, retain, and grow the team to meet the workload forecast and delivery needs of the business.
  • Deliver high quality development and performance evaluations in order to maximise the potential of our people for today and for the future.
  • Initiate and manage EPM development and generic delivery team improvement initiatives.

  • Experience of defining, implementing and embedding strategic direction by providing a clarity of vision and mission.
  • Ability to lead and drive collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams to ensure on time, on cost, on quality delivery.
  • Experience of various management tasks - recruitment, onboarding, performance, development etc.
