DC Pensions Consultant (investment or non-investment focussed)

Do you want to influence an exciting area of growth at Aon?

Do you want to be part of a diverse team with fantastic career development opportunities?

Aon are currently recruiting a DC Pensions Consultant to join their DC Consulting Team. DC has been identified as a key growth area in the UK for Aon’s Wealth Solutions and this is an exciting opportunity to play your part in this rapidly evolving area.

This role is suitable for someone with either (or both) an investment or non-investment focus and is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from one of our UK offices.

Aon is in the business of better decisions

At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.

As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive, diverse team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.

What the day will look like

You will be collaborating with colleagues across a variety of clients in relation to the full spectrum of DC consulting services, with client interaction and client lead roles strongly encouraged and supported. You will be expected to own projects and drive these forwards (for example, investment strategy reviews, fund selection exercises, review of DC delivery model, member engagement projects, DC contribution reviews).

As part of this role, you will:

  • Build on your knowledge of all aspects of DC pensions, across both trust-based and contract-based arrangements
  • Have an opportunity to get involved in Aon’s DC proposition development to drive revenue within the team
  • Get involved in DC modelling work, if desired, including developing new models to support consulting propositions.
  • Working closely with our DC Solutions team, our engagement colleagues and our Health and Risk team in a truly Aon United way

How this opportunity is different

Aon’s DC Consulting Team is a multi-disciplinary team consisting of strategic consultants, governance experts and DC investment specialists, providing the full DC spectrum of consulting advice and support to both Trustee Boards and Corporates in relation to their DC arrangements.

Whilst you will be predominantly supporting a portfolio of clients to make better decisions in relation to their DC arrangements to improve outcomes for members, this role will also allow you to work alongside experts in their field to help drive the future direction of DC provision. You will have the opportunity to focus on one of our many specialist areas such as Responsible Investing, DC member support, or our DC technical team.

One of our strengths is that we have a particularly diverse team, so you don't necessarily have to be interested in all areas of DC work– what we're looking for is someone who is enthusiastic, willing to learn and able to work as part of a growth area of the business. This role really does give you the opportunity to influence your own future career.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Previously worked in a DC pension environment either in an investment or non-investment capacity
  • Detailed analytical approach to tasks
  • Good communication skills with a flexible, can-do attitude
  • Ability to work in a team and individually, across the different UK offices (virtually and in-person)
  • Willing to share ideas and suggestions for improvements, either from a BAU perspective or in relation to proposition development
  • Good project oversight, time management and organisation skills

How we support our colleagues

In addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage a diverse workforce. Plus, our agile, inclusive environment allows you to manage your wellbeing and work/life balance, ensuring you can be your best self at Aon. Furthermore, all colleagues enjoy two “Global Wellbeing Days” each year, encouraging you to take time to focus on yourself.  We offer a variety of working style solutions, but we also recognise that flexibility goes beyond just the place of work... and we are all for it. We call this Smart Working!

Our continuous learning culture inspires and equips you to learn, share and grow, helping you achieve your fullest potential. As a result, at Aon, you are more connected, more relevant, and more valued.

We provide individuals with disabilities reasonable accommodations to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment in accordance with applicable law.
