The Role

Vision are recruiting for an experienced PE Teacher who is confident teaching across KS3 and KS4. You will be responsible for planning lessons in line with the National Curriculum and inspiring a love of sport within the pupils.

The School

The school is a Pupil Referral Unit, which caters for students with behavioural obstacles which make attending mainstream school a challenge. This could be social, emotional or mental health difficulties and as such, the ideal PE Teacher will be confident managing challenging behaviour. The role is incredibly rewarding and would suit an experienced teacher looking to branch out in their career. The leadership team are incredibly supportive and there are strong policies in place to manage behaviours.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspiring Lessons: Develop and deliver comprehensive and engaging PE lessons that ignite students' enthusiasm for physical education. Whether it's mastering a new skill or participating in team sports, your creativity and passion will make a difference.

• Inclusivity: Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued. Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and resilience.

• Assessment and Feedback: Assess and evaluate student performance, providing constructive feedback to help them grow. Celebrate their achievements and guide them toward improvement.

• Extracurricular Activities: Organise and supervise extracurricular sports and fitness activities. From inter-house competitions to school-wide events, you'll be the driving force behind our active community.

• Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to enhance our physical education program. Stay updated on educational trends and best practices in PE.

Qualifications/Experience

  • PGCE, B.Ed or equivalent
  • QTS
  • Experience working with students with behavioural difficulties (preferred but not essential)
  • DBS on the update service or the means to apply for a new one
