Payroll - Part-time hours
We recently took instruction on a new payroll job vacancy with a Belper-based accountancy firm, who are hiring into a part-time job, ideally for between 20 to 25 hours per week.
OVERVIEW
They are seeking to hire into a payroll position at their office in Belper, to start ASAP. The basic details are as follows:
- Running weekly and monthly payrolls for a variety of clients
- Regular dealing with SSP, SMP, holiday pay calculations, zero hour contracts, PAYE/NI through RTI, new starters/leavers and payroll year ends
- Dealing with HMRC and clients, investigating PAYE and other queries with HMRC
- Pensions enrolment and management with a variety of pension providers
- CIS returns can be part of role, depending on experience
- Employment law and HR responsibilities may be involved, depending on experience
Ideally, the role will be part-time, working 22-24 hours per week, but the firm will consider offering more/less hours, depending on the candidate. The role can involve some bookkeeping work on VAT returns for clients using Xero, but will only be considered part of the role for those with relevant experience and if the applicant is keen on this type of work.
Good payroll experience is required, with applicants who have worked in an accountancy firm or payroll bureau, particularly sought after by the employer.
