Payroll Officer

Location: Ripley, Derbyshire

Contract: Fixed-Term Contract until April 2025

Working Hours: Part-Time (30 hours per week)

Start Date: ASAP

Hybrid Working: 1 day at home per week

Salary: £26,000 - £29,000 per annum (dependent on experience/qualification)

Are you an experienced Payroll Officer looking for a rewarding opportunity in the public sector? We have an exciting fixed-term contract position available until April 2025, based in Ripley, Derbyshire. Join a dynamic team and contribute to the efficient payroll operations of their organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Working in a team of 7, you will process and manage payroll for public sector employees (up to 1700 employees)
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll data
  • Handle payroll-related queries from employees
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless payroll processes
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with relevant regulations

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of payroll experience is essential
  • IT literate with proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable Attributes:

  • Previous experience working in the public sector
  • Pension administration experience
  • CIPP (Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals) qualification

Working Conditions:
