LGS Vision Recruitment are currently working alongside a very modern, forward-thinking firm of accountants in their search to recruit a Part Time - Payroll Assistant within their South Cambridge office.

Our client is looking to recruit someone who ideally has at least 12-months of relevant experience.

This role can be provided mostly remotely but it would be a bonus if you are able to travel into Cambridge occasionally. (not essential)

The Payroll Team:

Their Payroll Team is where we provide clients with payroll services, utilising the latest technology and working practices. The team plays a critical role in the practice, carrying out essential payroll tasks to facilitate the timely and accurate calculation of client’s employee pay.

Role:

  • Managing a portfolio consisting of weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls.
  • Managing deadlines related to your client’s work.
  • Processing the SSP, SMP, SPP, and NI.
  • RTI processing.
  • End of year compliance (P60’s etc.) and on-going compliance (P45’s etc.).
  • Processing auto-enrolment through various pension providers.
  • Calculate sick pay, over time and holiday pay.
  • Calculation of tax and NIC Contributions.
  • File all payroll related matters
  • Establish a rapport with clients, directors, managers, and staff.
  • Dealing effectively with client queries.
  • Prepare reports, letters, and other documents.
  • Liaising with HMRC.

Ideal Candidate:

  • 12months payroll experience ideally in a practice or bureau
  • Experience of using BrightPay would be a bonus
  • Adaptable, keen, and flexible approach.
  • Punctual and attentive to support a busy team.

Package:

  • £26,000 - £33,000 FTE
  • 23 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Remote working
  • Part time - Min 21 hours per week
