REED are recruiting for a Payroll Assistant (part time 20 hours per week or full time) working with a prestigious Business Advisory firm near Christchurch. 

Payroll Assistant / Hybrid Working / Part Time or Full Time - Salary up to £26,000 per annum

About the role:

You will be assisting the payroll manager with weekly and monthly payroll requirements, ensuring payroll is processed following HMRC guidelines and UK Legislation, providing first line of contact for client queries, ensuring payroll data is accurately recorded, processing ad hoc payroll entries and generating payroll reports when required.

Key responsibilities are:

• supporting the Payroll Manager in providing an efficient and comprehensive payroll service to clients

• reviewing payroll outputs

• day-to-day administration of client payrolls to include RTI submissions and end of year reporting

• processing starters, leavers, SMP, SPP, SSP etc.

• manual calculations of tax and NI

• uploading pension contributions

• assisting with reviewing and checking of payrolls and dealing with payroll queries

• providing a comprehensive service to clients to include additional advice and information requests as required

Requirement 

• 1 year payroll experience in an accountancy practice or within a Bureau department

• excellent IT Skills especially Excel, Microsoft Office

• excellent organisational skills and ability to multi-task

• a good work ethic and a can do attitude

• able to meet strict deadlines and manage workloads

• analytically minded

• efficient with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail

• strong communicator both written and verbal

• motivated team player

• highly personable with good communication skills

• knowledge of HMRC requirements and UK Payroll Legislation

• ideally experience with BrightPay or Payroll Professional software
