Are you a payroll expert looking for a rewarding opportunity in Central London? Join a prestigious university as a HR Services Payroll Advisor! In this hybrid role, you'll play a key part within a HR team, ensuring smooth payroll operations and compliance with university policies.

The Professional Services Hub brings together key customer facing and transactional services across different functions, HR, Finance, Estates and IT. The Professional Services Hub is committed to delivering high quality & efficient services, with a real emphasis on customer experience.

Main purpose of the job:

  • To provide guidance, advice, and information to employees and managers on complex pay and overpayments queries.
  • To work with the other HR Services colleagues, Administration and Payroll teams to ensure all transactions are processed accurately in the system and within published service standards and/or process deadlines

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the maintaining and updating of overpayment records via the integrated HR/Payroll system, document management system or other systems, in accordance with procedures and service standards
  • Ensure all data relating to overpayments is accurate and in line policy and process.
  • Input overpayments data onto database daily.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely correspondence.
  • Monitor using all appropriate reports and expertise, all overpayments in accordance with project requirements
  • Maintain a suite of MI for Project Lead and Senior Management, including production, analysis and remedy of any resulting issues, in collaboration with internal teams as appropriate.
  • Support the HR Services teams and Finance on any compliance and governance requirements.
  • Act as a first line support, providing support and guidance to all affected employees and management of complex pay queries.
  • Work as a proactive team member to ensure that the work for the team is completed accurately and within the relevant timescales.
  • Responsible for developing effective, positive relationships with customers, departmental contacts and Professional Services colleagues, to create a dependable working relationship and positively assist in meeting their business needs, liaising with employees and internal departments.
  • Be responsible for maintaining and updating your own continuous professional development.
  • To maintain an awareness and observation of Fire and Health & Safety Regulations.
  • To carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the line manager or Head of Department/Division.
