The NSG Group is one of the World’s largest manufacturers of glass and glazing products for Architectural, Automotive and Technical Glass sectors.

We are now looking for a Patent Searcher to provide searching resource in support of Intellectual Property department activities.

As Patent Searcher, you will be involved in Prior Art/Novelty Searching, performed in support of IP Attorney’s activities to protect NSG Group IP assets, Freedom of Operate Searching to support R&D and Attorneys at the various stages of R&D projects, and Validating Searching to support IP Attorneys’ efforts to invalidate 3rd party IP which threatens the business interests of NSG. You will also be involved in IP Landscape Searching, providing general searches in potential new product areas and watching 3rd party IP systems are maintained to identify new applications for patents or other IP, filed by 3rd parties, that could impact upon NSG business interests.

The ideal candidate will hold professional qualifications and/or experience in the field of Patent/Scientific Literature searching. With a background in Science or Engineering, you will have excellent organisational skills, the ability to work autonomously and an eye for detail.

Salary & Benefits

  • £35,000 per annum, depending on experience
  • 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Defined contribution scheme with Aviva with up to 8% employer contribution
  • 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays

  • Management Incentive Plan - pays up to 20% of basic salary, based on business targets and not guaranteed
  • Car subsidiary scheme - £870 per annum, when an individual enters into a finance agreement to purchase a car
