Secondary Intervention Tutor

At Engage Education, we’re looking for someone who is passionate about the social and emotional development of Children. We’re looking to work with someone who has had previous experience with children, a particular interest in positive behaviour management and preferably, an understanding of psychology and why children present particular behaviours.

We have a school in Heathfield, Hastings and Eastboure looking for a teacher experienced in challenging behaviour and disengagement to run workshops and conduct 1-1 tutoring.

The hope being extra pastoral support to raise academic, social and emotional attainment. This specific role would involve adopting a holistic approach to working with children in small groups or on a one to one basis to improve behaviour and confidence. A therapeutic and nurturing approach would be ideal.

About the role
  • Working 1-1 or in small groups of children to provide support, nurture and understand behaviour patterns

  • An understanding of attachment and trauma

  • Adopt an individualised approach to understand why behaviour presents itself

  • Plan and implement ways for children to improve behaviour and engagement

  • Full Time / Part time role

  • There will be training available and you will be supported to improve your skills, experience.

About you

  • Experience working with children

  • An understanding of school-based practices

  • Experience with challenging behaviour preferable, an understanding of SEMH preferable

  • Child Based background, Support Worker experience, or SEND experience preferable
