Our client, a comprehensive school are seeking to appoint a Pastoral and Inclusion Support Officer to support the pastoral needs of students as required.

Based at Deanshanger
37 hrs a week, 40 weeks a year - 8am - 4pm Monday - Thursday; (8am - 3.30pm Friday’s)
Grade F, points 6-7; Actual salary: £21,077 - £21,431 per annum

Our client is an aspirational and inclusive 11-18 comprehensive school with approximately 1100 students. Their school is located on two sites: Roade in Northamptonshire and Deanshanger on the outskirts of Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire. They are one school with both sites operating independently with a Head of School on each site, under the leadership of the Director of Secondary Education.

The primary objective is to ensure each student receives a consistent and positive experience at whatever stage of their journey through the school. You will also be required to undertake first aid training.

The key responsibilities of the role will be to support students with social, emotional and behavioural needs; liaise with and support parents of more vulnerable students; improve attendance of pupils with low attendance; to organise activities that support the educational and social development of identified pupils; to address the needs of pupils who require support to overcome barriers to learning both inside and outside of school.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience of working in a school;
  • Have experience and knowledge of issues affecting students and young people and how to offer supportive assistance
  • Work well under pressure
  • Have excellent communication, time management and organisational skills
  • Meet the person specification and will be required to apply for a DBS disclosure and register for the annual updates service
  • Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK

Training and development opportunities will be offered. All staff are encouraged to study further, and the trust will actively support staff to obtain relevant further qualifications where possible.
