Job Advertisement: Part-Time SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)

Position: Part-Time SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)

Schedule: 2 full days and one half day on Fridays (part-time)

Duration: Role till August

Are you a dedicated and experienced Level 3 Practitioner with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are seeking a Part-Time SENCO to join our team until August, providing specialized support and guidance to ensure the inclusion and progress of all children in our setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all matters related to SEN within the setting.
  • Conduct assessments and observations to identify children's individual needs and develop appropriate support plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to implement effective strategies and interventions to support children with SEN.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff members on best practices for supporting children with SEN.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to SEN provision and progress.
  • Liaise with outside agencies and professionals to access additional support and resources as needed.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 qualification in Childcare or relevant field.
  • Specialism or additional training in Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN in an early years setting.
  • Understanding of SEN legislation, policies, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Compassion, patience, and empathy when working with children and families.
  • Flexible and adaptable to meet the changing needs of the role.
