Part time Head of Finance – EdTech / Tech For Good startup  

Hybrid working – City office + WFH

£100k (pro rata) + options + bens

Working arrangement:

  • Flexible - Equivalent of 3 full working days p/w (can be split across 5 days)

Talentedge are pleased to be partnering with an early stage EdTech startup (15 FTE’s and £4m ARR with aggressive plans to scale to £15m+ within 2 years) on a crucial hire within their expanding London based team.

The business is incredibly mission driven & impact led, with improving the accessibility of educational opportunities for everyone in society at their core.

In what is their first operational finance hire reporting into a CFOO who is a former top tier banker, you will be tasked with bringing in-house the company finances from an external accountancy firm & building a best-in-class function, setting up all processes, controls and automated systems.

You’ll be amazing for this opportunity if you have a high passion for technology, love startups and are seeking a broad finance role within a business that puts their mission at the heart of everything they do.

Key responsibilities to include:

  • In-house, build and take ownership for the finance infrastructure, ensuring all processes and controls are scalable
  • Own board reporting including consolidated monthly management accounts with analysis and commentaries as well as commercial pack
  • Statutory reporting and tax work
  • Support the CFO on commercial initiatives including future fundraising and structuring new partnerships
  • Analyse and track financial and non-financial KPIs 
  • Utilise Xero & its’ wider ecosystem of apps & tools to automate transactional finance
  • In time, recruit and build a finance team

Profile:

  • Qualified accountant with a strong academic background
  • High growth tech sector experience (EdTech or Consulting is advantageous however non-essential)
  • Prior experience of building an in-house finance function
  • Analytical, mathematical and data driven in approach, with advanced Excel skills. Ability to use data analytics tools would be an advantage
  • Effective communicator, comfortable working with teams across the business
  • Ambitious, driven and detail oriented. Someone who can be trusted to deliver
