The team at Pear Tree Recruitment have supported Jessie May for over 6 years with various fundraising initiatives. We are now proud to be recruiting a Charity Accountant to join their amazing team.

Jessie May provides a hospice at home service across the South West to over 300 children with life-limiting conditions. The team are now looking to support further families through the expansion of their service provision, and to continue making an unbelievable difference. To achieve this, they have set an ambitious 5-year fundraising target that will see a 75% increase in their annual income from £1.6m to £2.8m.

To facilitate meeting their charitable and strategic targets, Jessie May have invested in a new finance system, Xledger, that has just gone live and has the potential to be transformational in terms of new income streams and increased fundraising. The Charity Accountant will be integral in taking the lead on ensuring the successful running of this system, coupled with managing all aspects of the Jessie May’s finance and accounting function, including the line management of two direct reports.

This role requires a qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA, AAT also considered) with experience of leading a finance and accounting function within the charitable sector. Any knowledge or experience of Xledger, Charities SORP, and/or Gift Aid would be ideal.
