Part-time Bookkeeper

Dorking, Surrey

2.5 days a week with hybrid working

We have an amazing opportunity to join a fast growing company within a fun industry. We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to work independently reporting to the Managing Director. The right candidate will be used to working for an SME and be experienced who can 'hit the ground running’.

Roles & Responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records up to Trial Balance, ensuring that the financial statements are correct.
  • Process invoices in a timely manner.
  • Process revenues and costs from various payment platforms - Paypal/Shopify/Amazon.
  • Reconcile bank statements - UK and foreign accounts.
  • Prepayments, Accruals and Fixed Assets.
  • Post Credit card statement.
  • Ensure Control accounts are maintained.
  • Process and submit UK VAT returns and reconciliations.
  • Assist in European VAT returns by supplying data to the tax agency.
  • Reporting and Variance Analysis in Sage 50.
  • Close the Accounting year to send to External Accountant.
  • Any adhoc projects.

Essential Skills & Knowledge:

  • An experienced Finance Person with at least 5 years working in SME.
  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping.
  • Experience of working in a multinational business - forex
  • Must have Advance excel - formulae/pivots
  • Forex experience
  • Knowledge of Sage 50 or similar Accounts package
  • Hands on approach.
  • Attention to detail

The right candidate will be used to working for an SME and happy to get involved in a variety of finance tasks. You will need to be a pro active and enthusiastic candidate who is full of ideas and drive within the role.
