Position; Part-time Accounts Assistant

Location; Oxford

Salary; £28,085 per annum pro rata'd to £22,468 for 29 hours.

The role;

The successful candidate will be responsible for posting and reconcile all bank transactions in a timely manner, generating and issuing invoices for non-conference related activities on a timely basis. This is an 18-month fixed-term contract, Monday to Friday (29 hours across 4 days or 5 days).

Main responsibilities;

  • Preparing cashbooks
  • Reconciling bank accounts
  • Operating the non-conference sales ledger
  • Assisting with the purchase ledger when required
  • Administering college stationery orders
  • Assist with any banking related queries e.g. cheque deposits.
  • Assist with bank administration.
  • Reconcile allowances monthly to nominal ledger.
  • Inform fellows of balances when requested and proactively where allowances have been exceeded.

Required;

  • Educated to GCSE (or equivalent).
  • Strong numeracy skills.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team.
  • Previous experience in a finance role.
  • Good Excel skills.
  • Ability to organise own workload and work to deadlines.
  • High level of integrity, and the ability to deal reliably with confidential information.
