Our well-established client is seeking a Paralegal to join their busy Property Department based at their Guildford office.

Duties will include;

  • Completing Stamp Duty forms
  • Drafting and submitting Land Registry returns
  • Requesting Land Registry Documents
  • Responding to Requisitions raised by the Land Registry
  • Ordering redemption statements/liaising with banks
  • Drafting notices and letters
  • Daily downloads of search results and title documents
  • Preparing completion statements
  • Activating building warrantee policies
  • Drafting Contracts and Transfer Deeds
  • Ordering property searches
  • Updating lender’s portal
  • Send title documents to lenders and clients
  • Calculating apportionments
  • Completing Fee Notes for the fee earners
  • CQS administration including courses
  • Raising cheques & e-chits and filing printed e-chits on relevant file
  • Updating of legal materials Any other tasks required by the partners e.g. legal research, client contact.

General tasks shared with other paralegals:

  • Witnessing documents e.g. wills
  • Will binding
  • Paying in cheques by 3pm, rota basis
  • Collecting post and DX from all departments at 16:30, rota basis
  • Franking outgoing post and stamping DX
  • Taking post and DX at the end of the day
  • Switchboard when reception is not covered
  • Scanning, photocopying and binding
  • Greeting visitors and preparing tea and coffee for meetings
  • Drafting meetings minutes
  • Paying in cheques
  • Answering phones and relaying messages
  • Filing
