Paralegal (Property Law)
Our Client
Our client is a niche, dynamic law firm specialising in all aspects of commercial and residential property. Their fast-paced team is based in modern and spacious offices in East London, having moved from central London in recent years.
The Role
As a general property law paralegal, you will be supporting fee-earners on the full spectrum of property transactions including both commercial and residential matters. You will be a key member of a high achieving team and the role will involve building strong relationships with our clients senior fee-earners and clients. There is also the realistic potential of receiving a training contract should you prove yourself.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for early/mid stage transactions which will include:
- Drafting (leases, licences, loan documentation)
- Managing own caseload (subject to experience)
- Drafting and preparing reports
- Opening files and preparing legal packs
- Preparing engagement letters
- Applying for searches
- File management
- Preparing and replying to enquiries and CPSEs
Pre/post-completion will include:
- Pre/post-completion:
- Drafting reports
- Handling exchanges
- Preparing invoices
- Preparing completion/financial statements
- Completing SDLT returns
- Preparing Transfers
- Assisting fee earners with file management
As the property law paralegal you will also be expected to assist with some general clerical office duties (e.g. answering the phone and managing the post).
The Ideal Candidate
Initiative and energy is a pre-requisite for this role and you will also need to have:
- Previous property law experience - essential
- Highly disciplined, organised and driven
- A keen eye for detail
- A motivated, "can-do" attitude and a team player
