Ford & Stanley Talentwise are currently working with a large Rolling Stock Maintenance and Overhaul business who are actively recruiting for multiple Paint Sprayers to join them on a permanent basis out of their facility in Milton Keynes.

The Situation

Currently going through a period of significant growth with an extremely full order book this business are looking to train and develop the next generation of rail/ rolling stock professionals who are keen to see long term success within a growing and profitable business.

They have significant investment being made into their current site, with plans for further transformation and development of the facilities and workshops.

They require a team of Paint Sprayers to complete top quality paint finishes on the Rolling Stock overhauls, vital to ensure successful vehicle hand back with customers.

The Role

  • Application of water-based paint systems including primer’s and topcoats
  • Mixing of paint system
  • Preparation of vehicles/components including filler work and use of DA sanders.
  • Mask interior/exterior of vehicles and components
  • Carrying out spot repairs
  • Carry out repairs/reworking of defects.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be looking to develop their current skillset with a view to further their career in the UK rail industry.

Essential

  • Experience in application of water-based paint systems including primer’s and topcoats
  • Able to use viscosity cups for mixing of paint system
  • Experience and knowledge in the use of gravity fed spray guns and pressure pots. This includes set up, cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
  • Understanding of Technical and Safety data sheets
  • Experience in railway or commercial spray painting environment.
  • Experience in preparation of large vehicles/components including filler work and use of DA sanders.
  • Able to accurately and efficiently mask interior/exterior of vehicles and components to high standard.
  • Able to read livery drawings and schedule of finishes.

Desirable

  • Experience in carrying out spot repairs
  • Able to use polishing machines to carry out repairs/reworking of defects.

Hours:

Shifts:
Mon to Thurs - 6am – 2pm / 2pm – 10pm
Fri – 6am – 11am / 11am – 4pm
OT Available (50 hour weeks)

Salary:
Competitive – banded depending on experience.
